I have had my panoptix Livescope for over 2 years from outdoorsluis and have been amazed at the technology, the quality of the product…and most of all The FANTASTIC Customer Service! That’s something that unfortunately most companies have taken the view “we can do our customers any old way and they’ll take it” … Fortunately for us GARMIN put customers first in tgeir customer service. I had a problem recently with my wiring harness that was in no way Garmin’s fault… And at over a year out of warranty they replaced the part free. Their Customer service folks seem to enjoy their jobs and HELPING FOLKS!!! WHAT A NOVEL IDEA… Back to the panoptix… It shows you more things than you’ll ever believe. I use mine to quickly find out colors the crappie, or Walleye (2 species that can be difficult) quickly by seeing how they respond to different colored jigs. It will “humble you” by showing you a ton of fish you’ll never catch, but also amaze you by allowing you to pick out specific fish to cast to. My fishing which was always enjoyable, but is now so much more satisfying. I’ve had numerous owners of “copy cat” units tell me they wish they’d have gone with Garmin also. If my almost 3 year old unit quits today – I’ll quickly buy another just like it.Less

I was impressed with foreword view but perspective view is incredible. You can see 30-40ft in front of the boat in less than 5 ft of water. You can see fish swimming around in the weeds in live time. It looks similar to mega 360 but in live time. Highly recommended. Thanks outdoorsluis fast shipping

What is there to dislike about being able to see the fish your after?! The only drawbacks are that it uses a lot of power (can drain batteries faster) and it’s only a 15 degree beam. I bought it for anchoring up and going after springer chinooks, but it doesn’t work all that well anchored in 4-6 feet of water. Trolling is a bonus though. I’ve seen my bait up to 130 feet back in the bay. I see fish throughout the water column and I get to see what they’re doing – like how active they are, whether they’re checking out the bait, ignoring the bait, actual sizing, whether they’re moving or laying close to the bottom (the bottom itself can be a little fuzzy). I’m not sure I could go back to traditional sonar after using this all this season – it’s eye opening and I’m still amazed every time I get to watch a fish bite the bait. It never gets old!

Perspective mode is fantastic for spotting cribs and other cover, plus suspended fish over deeper water, but that requires adding a perspective mode mount. Down and forward view are great for seeing fish near the bottom or close to cover. You’ll want to take some time to experiment with different settings, but you’ll definitely learn more about the waters you explore and the fish in them.
